Today (Monday): It will be a windy day, especially across Scotland, Northern Ireland and northern England. Northern Ireland, south-west England and Wales will be cloudy with heavy rain slowly moving north-east. The Midlands, East Anglia and the south-east will start dry with spells of hazy sunshine but showers will develop. Elsewhere, dry but with increasing amounts of cloud.

Tonight (Monday night): A band of rain across Northern Ireland, Wales and central and southern England will move slowly north-east as the night progresses. The rain will be heavy and prolonged with the chance of the odd rumble of thunder. Staying mostly dry in northern Scotland with variable cloud. Remaining windy in the north and east.
